Under the guidance of Professor Michael E. Porter, we conducted a high-level assessment of Haiti’s competitiveness. Our work began with an overview of the country’s economic performance, using a comprehensive framework to evaluate and strengthen both national and regional competitiveness. We assessed Haiti’s position based on its factor endowments, as well as its macroeconomic and microeconomic competitiveness.

This analysis formed the foundation of a proposed national strategy, offering a broad set of recommendations to enhance Haiti’s long-term prosperity. We also outlined a series of sequential steps to guide the implementation of the strategy and support Haiti’s transformation into a more competitive and prosperous nation.

Our findings were presented at a conference held in Haiti on September 22, 2017, attended by leaders from the government, private sector, NGOs, and the international community.
