A Strategy for Sustaining Growth and Prosperity for Arequipa

Led by Jorge Ramirez and supervised by Professot Michael E. Porter, we conducted a regional strategy and competitiveness analysis for the Region of Arequipa. The first part included nineteen thematic working groups that were assembled with stakeholder participation from the private sector, academia, and government. Several workshops were conducted to validate the assessment, goals, proposals, and strategy and to set priorities. More than 300 people participated in workshops. This initial phase was financed by the private sector and involved the active participation of the Chamber of Commerce of Arequipa The second phase of the program, the cluster development program, could not be completed due to a lack of financing from the regional government
