Led by Jorge Ramirez and supervised by Professor Michael E. Porter, we carried out a regional strategy and competitiveness analysis for the Region of Arequipa. The first phase brought together nineteen thematic working groups with broad stakeholder participation from the private sector, academia, and government. A series of workshops, with over 300 participants, were held to validate the assessment, define goals, refine proposals, and establish strategic priorities. This phase was financed by the private sector and actively supported by the Chamber of Commerce of Arequipa.

Unfortunately, the second phase of the program, focused on cluster development, could not be completed due to a lack of funding from the regional government.
