Under the guidance of Professor Michael E. Porter, we conducted a national strategy program led by Jorge Ramirez and a team of local consultants. Over the course of a year, we engaged more than 100 experts, organized into thematic working groups, to shape a shared vision for Peru’s economic future. Funded by leaders from the Peruvian private sector, the initiative aimed to inform and support presidential candidates ahead of the 2011 elections.

Our proposed national value proposition and country strategy were presented at the Annual Conference of Peruvian Executives (CADE) in November 2010, with major presidential candidates in attendance. The work included a comprehensive assessment of Peru’s competitiveness and a set of strategic recommendations with concrete policy actions. We also outlined eleven economic development goals to be achieved by 2021 and proposed an institutional framework for competitiveness, including the establishment of the Private Council on Competitiveness.
