We began this journey with the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce in 2012 to support its efforts to foster shared prosperity in the region. Our first step was redefining the Chamber’s corporate objectives, incorporating the concept of shared value into its organizational purpose. We supported the subsequent reorganization process to align with these new goals.
As part of this transformation, we facilitated the creation of the Vice-Presidency of Competitiveness, supported by the Vice-Presidencies of Business Services and Public-Private Coordination. Within the new Competitiveness Vice-Presidency, we helped build the cluster and shared value programs from the ground up.
Our work included designing a long-term support methodology for business clusters aligned with local resources. We assembled dedicated teams and, in the first year, selected four clusters to launch the program. This number continued to double annually, eventually reaching 17 clusters and more than 300,000 companies under the Chamber’s support within the first three years.
As of 2024, after four different CEOs, the program continues to operate successfully with 15 active cluster initiatives and a fully functional Competitiveness Vice-Presidency.
