Our work in Israel began in 2014 with a project commissioned by Mayor Nir Barkat to assess and enhance Jerusalem’s competitiveness. Collaborating with local experts and the Mayor’s office, we analyzed the city’s economic clusters, particularly in science and tourism, and developed a detailed growth strategy. This plan was formally adopted and fully funded by the Israeli government, leading to significant economic expansion in the city’s core clusters. In 2015, we expanded our engagement to rural regions of Israel through a study conducted with JE Austin and a local think tank. This work identified promising opportunities in underdeveloped areas and provided actionable recommendations for cluster-based development.
