Since 2000, Michael Porter has served on President Paul Kagame’s Advisory Council, working in close partnership with Rwanda’s leadership to shape the nation’s development agenda. Our engagement has included strategic sessions with top officials, the establishment of the Strategy and Policy Unit (SPU) within the Presidency, and assessments of cluster development in key sectors such as coffee, tea, and tourism. We have provided capacity-building programs, advised on the creation and strategy of the Rwanda Development Board, and partnered with Partners in Health to support the country’s health and development goals. These efforts have been integral to Rwanda’s progress in building a competitive, inclusive economy.
