Our work focused on analyzing both past and current regional economic performance to help formulate a new regional strategy in response to growing competition from China and India as low-cost manufacturing hubs. We also examined key cluster initiatives, highlighting their main strengths to ensure that the cluster vision remained a priority for the New Carolina Initiative and the 10-year strategic planning effort launched under Governor Nikki Haley.
