Ernesto Cuellar

Senior Consultant

Is a Senior Consultant at the Porter Development Initiative, where he brings nearly two decades of experience designing and implementing strategy, competitiveness, and innovation projects across Latin America and beyond. At PDI, he currently serves as Senior International Competitiveness Expert for the Guyana Development Initiative, contributing to national economic strategy through cluster development, institutional design, and inclusive growth. Ernesto has also collaborated with the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness at Harvard Business School on projects in Mongolia, Haiti, Peru, Colombia, the Netherlands, and the United States.

In Colombia, Ernesto was the architect and founding director of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce’s Cluster Development Program, where he led the launch of eight sectoral initiatives supporting over 300,000 local businesses. Earlier in his career, he led operations at the consulting firm Competitiveness and served as a competitiveness advisor across more than 12 regions in Colombia. He is a graduate of the General Management Program (GMP32) at Harvard Business School, holds a degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance, and earned a Master’s degree in Design from Universidad de los Andes.
