José Pablo Nuño

José Pablo Nuño is currently the General Director of SINTONÏA, Institute for Strategy, Collaboration and Competitiveness. Pablo was the former VP for internationalization for 12 years, VP of Research and Graduate Programs at UPAEP University for over nine years developing and consolidating from inception the CIP Center (Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs and Research Center for over 45 masters and 13 Ph.D. programs.  He also led the development of over 110 dual degree programs with universities in the USA, Europe, Russia, Asia, and South America.

Pablo has been leading UPAEP´s relationship with Harvard University with the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness (ISC) and its MOC Network.  Dr. Michael Porter introduced him to the “Hall of Fame” of the ISC´s network.   He has also leaded the alliance with MIT´s Lean Advancement Initiative (LAI), establishing the MIT LAI node in México.

The Institute of Industrial Engineering in the USA granted him in 2013 the Curriculum Innovation Award for the design and development of flexible graduate programs.  Pablo belongs to the Engineering Academy at the University of Arkansas.     He was awarded with the “International simulation contribution of the year” presented by the Society of Computer Simulation in the USA; The Institute of Management Science in the USA awarded the modernization project at Kenworth Mexicana during his work as professor at Arizona State University.   At ASU, he received the professor and the service of the year award in Industrial Engineering.

He is a member of the National Research System in México.  Pablo has presented conferences in different states in México, USA, Europe, and South America.  He has published over 120 articles and collaborated in 2 books of Dr. Hamdy Taha. He has developed consulting and applied research projects with a wide variety of companies governments, universities and NGO´s, including the automotive cluster of the Puebla region, Volkswagen, Rassini, Unicar, Cadbury Adams, McDonnell Douglas Corporation, Sematech in the USA, Kenworth-Paccar in México, Hylsa, Miro, Pemex Refinación, Minsa, Amhsa, Banco de Alimentos, Kilo de Ayuda, Origen, and multiple government agencies and universities in their strategic plans.

José Pablo´s most rewarding service activity is being a Missionary of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament (MNSSS), a mission given by John Paul II to priests with a Eucharistic charism through the Blessed Virgin Mary.   A group of seven Missionaries including Pablo have been working with the Bishop for eleven years to set-up sixty Perpetual Adoration Chapels across the States of  Puebla and Tlaxcala, including two in Rehabilitation Centers and one at UPAEP University.

He holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de las Américas.  He obtained a Masters in Industrial Engineering at the University of Arkansas, and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Oklahoma State University.
