Serves as Lead Program Manager at the Porter Development Initiative, where he designs and manages economic development projects with a focus on competitiveness, investment strategy, and stakeholder engagement. At PDI, he helps align policy frameworks with private sector growth across emerging and frontier economies, combining legal expertise with a data-driven, results-oriented approach.
Trained as a lawyer at Universidad de los Andes with a minor in Public Management, Juan Fernando brings experience in corporate and international law, as well as policy and program implementation. Before joining PDI, he worked at J.E. Austin Associates, where he supported national cluster policies, export strategies, and tourism initiatives in countries including Nepal, Ghana, Myanmar, and Honduras. He has also led proposal development for large-scale donor-funded programs across Central America, Colombia, and Macedonia.
