Kayla Jeffrey is an Associate at the Porter Development Initiative (PDI), joining the team after working under one of PDI’s flagship initiatives, the Guyana Development Initiative (GDI), a multi-year program that supported the Government of Guyana on priority initiatives across strategic areas aimed at advancing the country’s long-term growth and shared prosperity.
While at GDI, Kayla assumed multiple roles, including Project Lead of Sector Development, where she contributed to a diverse portfolio of work. This included facilitating and coordinating the implementation of high-priority projects with technical agencies and international experts, leading research assignments, and developing capacity-building programs that support social and economic development in Guyana.
Prior to her work at GDI, Kayla gained experience with the United Nations Volunteers Programme and Dr. Stacy A. Hope Consultancy, an international development consultancy focused on Latin America, Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. Kayla holds a Master of Arts degree in Sociology from York University and an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto, with a double major in Sociology and International Development Studies.
