Micaela Camacho is an economist originally trained at UCU (Uruguay). She holds an MBA from Copenhagen Business School (Denmark) and earned a PhD in Economics, Summa Cum Laude, from UCA (Argentina).
Her work focuses on regional competitiveness, private sector development, clusters, and productive development policies, with particular emphasis on sustainable socio-economic development and wellbeing creation. She has led and collaborated on numerous national and international research and consultancy projects in these areas. Her academic contributions include books, book chapters, peer-reviewed articles, and over two decades of university teaching and leadership of academic programs and research centers.
She also brings extensive experience in the analysis, evaluation, and implementation of public policies. Micaela has advised several multilateral organizations, NGOs, private international institutions, and public-sector actors at the national and regional levels.
A frequent speaker and advisor at international forums on competitiveness and development, she is also a member of Uruguay’s National System of Researchers.
