Roberto is PhD in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Deusto (Spain) and Economist from the University of the Republic (Uruguay).
Researcher specializing in competitiveness, clusters, and innovation, with numerous publications and scientific articles in specialized journals. He has also served as a consultant on these topics for public, private, and international organizations.
Professor Emeritus at the Catholic University of Uruguay, where he carried out extensive academic activity. He served as Dean of the Faculty of Business Sciences and as Director of the Competitiveness Institute, leading significant initiatives to promote competitiveness in Uruguay.
For more than ten years, he has been an active participant in the Microeconomics of Competitiveness Network developed by Professor Michael Porter. He is a Full Member of the National Academy of Economics and a member of the National System of Researchers in Uruguay
